The next test will be the following one. Blizzard declares that it will be making "significant adjustments" in WOTLK Gold Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair, but that the goal was not making fights so challenging that experienced and well-prepared raid groups will struggle to make progress.
"We aren't aiming to change the fights so that they are distinct or completely different from their Classic variants." Blizzard writes. "Our intent is to provide something subtle and fresh to complement this Season of Mastery that feels quite in line with the spirit of the original fights."
The release date for WoW Classic Season of Mastery is set. It was announced that WoW Classic seasons came amidst an array of lawsuits and investigation into an alleged long period of sexual harassment and discrimination at Activision Blizzard. The next BlizzCon event, which is where the major announcements regarding the studio's games are typically made, was recently canceled. Blizzard has said it's taking time to revamp the concept of the event's future but announcements about future games and updates are expected to remain forthcoming in the months ahead.
BlizzCon 2022 that was scheduled to take place in February, and be mostly virtual, along with smaller gatherings in person, has been pulled. The decision is amidst ongoing lawsuits, investigations and lawsuits alleging widespread sexual harassment and discrimination in Activision Blizzard.
Blizzard announces that the energy normally devoted to organizing the annual convention will instead be directed towards "supporting our teams and cheap WOTLK Classic Gold progressing in the development of our games and experiences." With no BlizzCon for next year, Blizzard will also be taking the opportunity to "reimagine" what the convention could look like.
